 The Rákóczi Festival is the largest city Festival in Kissingen. It has taken place since 1950 annually on the last July weekend and takes three days. The City celebrates its historical past where many of prominent spa guests as Kaiserni Sissi, King Ludwig I of Bavaria, Empress Catherine the great of Russia or Chancellor Otto von Bismarck played a role during this festival
The Rákóczi source to 1900Das Rákóczi landline is like the Rákóczi source (healing the best-known source in Bad Kissingen, after Prince Rákóczi, a Hungarian freedom fighters, named.) It enjoyed a certain popularity at the time of source by the famous architect Balthasar Neumann and the local pharmacist Georg Anthon box's discovery. As a result, the source was named after Rákóczi, although it has never been in Bad Kissingen visit.
The Festival is a City Festival with music in the whole town centre to which weggezogene bad Kissinger regularly return on the one hand; on the other hand, the historical past of the resort is celebrated.
To this fixed annually held last weekend in July, dress Kissinger citizens themselves as historical figures from the past of the city. So they encounter weekend on the Rákóczi ball as well as Sunday on the large pageant. There is both a cast for each historical Kurgast which has geweilt in Bad Kissingen, for the Prince Rákóczi, after the Festival is named.
There are otherwise many attractions such as the balloon heating in the Luitpoldpark or lighting of candles on derSaale ("the Saale Burns"). A traditional Fireworks is the conclusion of the Festival. |
